Actor Friend of Haik Marutyan Demands 3 Million Dram from David Khajakyan
According to the "Yerevan" newspaper, the civil lawsuit filed by Ashot Meloyan, the mapping supervisor of the Municipal Unitary Enterprise "Stray Dog Disposal" under the Yerevan City Hall, has been accepted by Judge Karine Petrosyan of the Yerevan Court of General Jurisdiction. Meloyan is demanding that David Khajakyan, the head of the "Lus" faction at the Yerevan Council, retract statements that allegedly defamed his honor and dignity and provide compensation.
It is noteworthy that Meloyan is a friend of Yerevan Mayor Haik Marutyan and has appeared with him in the series "Kargin Serial." What is the reason behind the lawsuit? On May 8, Khajakyan commented on Meloyan’s post that read, "Whoever thinks that velvet has no hands, and they can lavish out whatever is on their tongue, should be prepared for a velvet slap." In response to Meloyan's statement, Khajakyan wrote: "Considering that the works of the establishment are extremely unsatisfactory, one can assume that Meloyan is being compensated specifically for making such statements. Moreover, let me remind you that embezzlement in especially large amounts has been discovered at the establishment, and a criminal case has been initiated. I wonder if Meloyan has any connection to that case."
The "Yerevan" newspaper has learned that Ashot Meloyan, as the "ransom" for his reputation, is demanding 3 million dram in compensation from the opposition member of the council through the court.
