Therapeutic Department of Artik Hospital Closed, Doctors in Quarantine

The number of coronavirus cases in Artik is on the rise. This was reported to Armlur.am by the residents of Artik. According to the locals, a worker from one of the greenhouses has tested positive for the coronavirus, and there are about 100 people working in those greenhouses. Additionally, several employees from various shops have also been diagnosed with the virus.

It is noted that the head nurse of the therapeutic department of the hospital has also contracted the virus, and the doctors from that department are in isolation. Currently, patients with COVID-19 are being attended to by physicians from the surgical department. However, the medical staff is overwhelmed and cannot adequately care for all the patients, with nurses going from house to house to provide infusions.

“We receive a list of isolated individuals from the Ministry of Health, and we provide them with food. The city budget covers the food expenses, and the government will reimburse us later. Our employees are the ones delivering food to people's homes. The list arrives detailing the number of individuals and families, as well as the type of food to be delivered, with everything meticulously specified,” said Mayor Mikayel Varagyan.

According to Artak Grigoryan, the head of the Artik Municipality Staff, there have been a total of 49 confirmed cases of coronavirus in Artik, 19 of which were transported to hospitals by emergency services. However, 7 of those transferred have already recovered and have been discharged. Furthermore, there are currently 48 individuals in isolation in Artik.
