Fact: Gazprom Armenia Reduces Employee Salaries by 20 Percent

The newspaper "Fact" reports that Hrant Tadevosyan, the chairman and CEO of Gazprom Armenia LLC, had stated ten days ago that the company would have to lay off 1,000 employees.

According to him, the reason for these layoffs will be the newly approved tariff, which is lower than what Gazprom Armenia had submitted to the Public Services Regulatory Commission (PSRC). Tadevosyan also mentioned that in addition to layoffs, salary reductions are expected.

Yesterday, information reached "Fact" that the company has already required all its employees to sign a special version of their employment contract, in which they "agree" to a 20 percent reduction in their salaries. This fact has caused serious dissatisfaction among Gazprom Armenia employees, who expressed their concerns during conversations with us.

To clarify the details, we contacted the company’s public relations and media service, where they only stated: "The general director of Gazprom Armenia addressed this issue during the PSRC meeting. All of this is related to the review of tariffs and the reduction of the wage fund."
