Instead of Focusing 124 Investigators on Tsarukyan, Give a Few 'Samavolka' to Others: Naira Zohrabyan
NAIRA ZOHRABYAN, a member of the ARF parliamentary group, expressed on her Facebook page: 'Instead of concentrating 124 investigators on Tsarukyan, give a few “samavolka” to deal with those responsible for the deaths caused by coronavirus. Armenia is one of the world champions in the number of coronavirus carriers; hundreds become infected every day even with about 2000 tests conducted daily. I believe you understand that if we perform 3000 or 4000 tests daily, the harsh numbers of infected will be alarming.
With 553 deaths from COVID-19, it doesn’t seem to hinder the Minister of Health from being proud. Despite the disgraceful situation regarding coronavirus, and the catastrophic decline in the economy, the Armenian government remains unprecedentedly proud and decisive. Yet, it's not in combating the coronavirus but rather in fighting against political dissenters and those who do not applaud them.
A total of 124 investigators are currently engaged in fabricating cases against Gagik Tsarukyan. Huge sums from the state budget are being spent on various raids, organizing 24-hour harassment on us and our hundreds of teammates, attempting to extract the desired words from people through disorganized interrogation.
Nevertheless, that doesn’t matter. The important thing is that the authorities continue to be proud that only 553 people have died from the coronavirus, rather than several thousand. But could we all have died and left only those who accept the values of the revolution? Certainly, we could. There was a sect that believed that at the end of the world, everyone would be martyred except them.
Therefore, this is a free PR idea to chew on their exclusivity and chosen-ness, based on the principle of Overton's window. The Prime Minister of Italy continues to be summoned for questioning for failing to combat coronavirus effectively and for not taking necessary measures in due course. Many experts predict he will face criminal liability. I believe that no one in Armenia will evade their share of responsibility either—this is just a matter of time, and even the most hopeless infantilists cannot doubt this.
And the shows of blaming the 'irresponsible' people will not pass. There is no person without a mask, and I haven’t encountered a mask-less citizen even in this severe heat, for which I bow to our compatriots.
My suggestion is very simple: give 'samavolka' to some of those 124 investigators who have been detached from their homes and assigned to the project of digging up bribery cases against Tsarukyan, and let those investigators focus on issues like how many cases there were where ambulances refused to transport patients to hospitals and people have died, let them focus on why, when people were dying, the government refused to utilize specific hospital resources.
Let them investigate what is happening with patients being treated at home, who, apart from one call from the commandant's office that records their infection, no one seems to care about afterwards. Let them check on how the COVID-19 fund's money is being spent whilst our hundreds of compatriots suffering under home care face issues in buying expensive medicines.
These are questions that one day will need answers, and none of you will evade the answers to these questions and your share of responsibility, even if they extend the state of emergency until December, as threatened.
Today, I also want to touch lightly on the ring donut bakers, umbrella-holding large businessmen, who, according to reliable reports floating in the air, are forcing their employees to make unethical comments against us under the threat of losing their jobs. So, donut bakers and umbrella holders, know that you have been the slaves of every regime; your collective entity won’t be saved even by the cries of your eunuchs dispatched here, claiming you have no other option and are simply hostages of this regime. You have been suffering from the Stockholm syndrome characteristic of hostages for a long time, and I will address your vile actions separately. That's all for today concerning you.'
