Large-Scale Theft in Yerevan: Approximately $20,000 and Gold Jewelry Stolen
The Investigative Committee of Armenia has initiated a criminal case regarding a large-scale theft in the Erabuni and Nubarashen administrative districts of Yerevan. Shamshyan.com reports that the case was opened on June 23, following the theft from an apartment on Nubarashen Street 11.
On that day, between 5:00 PM and 10:00 PM, an unidentified individual or individuals used a skeleton key to open the apartment door, entered the home, and stole a large amount of money and gold jewelry from the bedroom and another room.
The police operational group of the Erabuni division, led by Chief Barkhoyan, arrived at the scene. The investigative work was directed by investigator Melkonyan. According to G. Shamshyan, the homeowner suffered a loss of approximately $20,000.
One of the theories is that the thief or thieves were well aware of the victims' absence from the house and knew exactly where to find the valuables. Both the police and the investigative department are undertaking necessary operational-search and investigative joint actions aimed at revealing the crime, as well as identifying the thief or thieves and recovering the stolen items.
