Operations of Beeline's Headquarters Suspended Temporarily, Says State Inspection Body

The Health and Labor Inspection Body of Armenia has temporarily suspended the operations of the headquarters of Veon Armenia LLC, the company behind Beeline, for 24 hours. The decision to suspend was made based on the violations recorded by the inspection body.

According to the decision of the Armenian Prime Minister, the inspection team has also suspended construction works being carried out by Hydroelectric Co. at 3 Nersisyan Street in Yerevan. An unexpected inspection previously revealed that neither the anti-epidemic measures established by the Prime Minister nor construction safety norms were being adhered to during the construction process.

Specifically, due to the absence of closed trash bins, used gloves and masks, which are considered hazardous waste, were found scattered around. Moreover, proper conditions for washing and breaks were not provided. Bottles of drinks were also observed, while alcohol consumption during construction work is strictly prohibited as it may lead to accidents.

Ashot Harutyunyan, head of the Health and Safety Control Department at the Inspection Body, has drawn the attention of the business operator to these violations. Immediate rectification of the issues has been mandated; otherwise, stricter administrative measures will be applied.

Alongside the suspension activities, other teams from the Inspection Body are conducting surprise inspections and ongoing monitoring in different regions of the republic and various administrative districts of the capital. The enhanced inspections are currently taking place in Arabkir. Additionally, double checks are being carried out on operators that were suspended days earlier due to violations.

The aim is to ascertain whether the violations that led to the suspension have been rectified. If not, stricter administrative measures are inevitable. “Inspections are once again recording violations,” notes Gagik Grigoryan, head of the Yerevan Territorial Center of the Health and Labor Inspection Body. However, he mentions that the dynamics are positive, as violations have significantly decreased.
