Circumstances Surrounding the Death of 26-Year-Old Armenian Basketball Player Revealed

The tragic circumstances surrounding the death of 26-year-old Armenian basketball player Pierre Ghoukassian have become known. He was a victim of a car accident.

According to Shamshyan.com, a major traffic accident occurred in the Kotayk province on June 23. Around 7:50 PM, vehicles including a Mercedes, BMW, and Nissan X-Trail collided on the 22nd kilometer section of the Yerevan-Sevan highway. As a result of the collision, the Nissan overturned, partially blocking the traffic lane, while the BMW veered off the roadway and ended up in the green zone.

Passengers of the Nissan, residents of Yerevan, including 26-year-old Pierre Ghoukassian, his 23-year-old wife Karina Ghoukassian, and 28-year-old Marianna Machkalyan were taken to the Abovyan Medical Center with various injuries. On June 24, Pierre Ghoukassian was transferred to the number 1 university hospital, where he passed away in the intensive care unit without regaining consciousness.
