Around 120 Rescue Workers Engaged in Firefighting Operations at the Sports and Concert Complex: MES

Firefighters are battling a major fire that broke out in the area of the Sports and Concert Complex. The Minister of Emergency Situations Felix Tsolakyan is present at the scene. This information is reported by the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Armenia.

On June 26, at 20:58, the National Crisis Management Center received a call reporting that a grass area in the vicinity of the Yerevan Sports and Concert Complex was on fire.

A total of fourteen firefighting teams from the Yerevan Rescue Department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, six rescue teams from the Special Rescue Operations Center, and operational teams from the Organization of Fire Suppression and Rescue Operations Division and National Crisis Management Center have been dispatched to the scene, along with an on-duty doctor from the Medical Support Department.

Approximately 120 rescue workers have been engaged in the firefighting operations. The fire was contained by 23:32. Just moments ago, the Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport Arayik Harutyunyan informed via live broadcast that the large fire near the Armenian Genocide Institute-Museum has been extinguished.
