Two More Signatures Needed for BHK to Appeal to the Constitutional Court

The Prosperous Armenia Party (BHK) needs two more signatures to appeal to the Constitutional Court. According to Article 169, Part 2 of the RA Constitution, at least one-fifth of the total number of deputies is required for an appeal to the Constitutional Court in cases defined by Article 168, Parts 1, 4, and 6 of the Constitution.

Currently, the BHK has 25 signatures, with all of its faction members signing. According to the legal requirements, 27 signatures are needed for the Constitutional Court to review the constitutionality of the decision adopted by Parliament today.

It is noteworthy that the parliamentary faction of the Prosperous Armenia Party has appealed to its colleagues in the Enlightened Armenia party, calling on them to join this initiative.

Recall that the My Step faction of the National Assembly adopted the draft amendments to the RA Constitution. The BHK intends to appeal to the CC to clarify the compliance of the proposed amendments with the RA Constitution.
