Gyumri: Online Admission for 1822 First-graders

The admission of first-graders for the new academic year in all schools across the Republic will be conducted exclusively through electronic registration. Last year, the online admission system was tested only in schools of the capital. The aim of the online enrollment is to create a level playing field among schools.

Instead of the former paperwork and the obligation for parents to visit the school, the process can now be completed online in just a few minutes from home. The first phase of registrations took place from June 1-10, which was considered open but not for everyone. In other words, the first phase allowed registration for the children of the school's teachers or those belonging to the same family currently studying at the school.

Now, the online platform is available for all applicants for the first grade.

Restrictions apply based on the licensing rules for secondary and primary schools, taking into account building conditions and the teaching staff, and as a result, the number of first-graders to be accepted has been determined. In Gyumri, the threshold for online admission in 27 primary and secondary schools is set at 1822.

One school, located in the newly built Mush 2/2 neighborhood, has the highest capacity, allowing 155 first-graders to enroll, while another school in the Sheram neighborhood is permitted to accept a minimum of only 3 first-graders. The online admission for first-graders will continue until the beginning of August.
