Transfers of Officials from Artsakh Defense Army to Armenian Ministry of Defense and High-Ranking Appointments

According to the newspaper "Joghavorud", there are reports that officials from the Artsakh Defense Army are being transferred to the Armenian Ministry of Defense, along with high-ranking appointments. On June 24, 2019, the President of Artsakh, Bako Sahakyan, signed a decree appointing Major General Mikayel Hambardzoumian as deputy commander of the Artsakh Defense Army.

Now, a decision has been made to bring Mikayel Hambardzoumian to the Armenian Ministry of Defense and appoint him as the head of a department, though it has not yet been clarified which specific department he will be heading. Additionally, these changes began to unfold during the working visit of the Chief of the General Staff of the Armenian Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Onik Gasparyan, to the Republic of Artsakh and the Defense Army from June 16 to 17.

Onik Gasparyan was first hosted by the President of the Republic, Arayik Harutyunyan, and later participated in a working consultation regarding the logistics of food supply for the Defense Army. However, "Joghavorud" discovered that these changes will not end here, and additional transfers from the Artsakh Defense Army to the Armenian Ministry of Defense are expected soon; Mikayel Hambardzoumian was just the first appointment.
