The Fire at Khosrov Forest State Reserve is a Result of Lightning, Says Minister's Spokesperson
The spokesperson for the Minister of Environment, David Grigoryan, announced on his Facebook page that the fire at the Khosrov Forest State Reserve was caused by lightning.
“As we already reported, a fire broke out yesterday in the 'Khachadzor' section of the Khosrov Forest State Reserve. With the assistance of employees from the Khosrov Forest State Reserve and firefighters from the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the blaze was extinguished at 8:00 PM yesterday. The cause of the fire was determined to be lightning. Approximately 4.5 hectares of area (conifer forest) burned. The situation is completely under control. Currently, post-fire operations are underway in the reserve. The photo shows the tree that was struck by lightning,” wrote Grigoryan.
