Strengthened Inspections by the Food Safety Inspectorate Targeted Armavir Today
The oversight conducted by the Food Safety Inspectorate of Armenia regarding the enforcement of the decisions of the Governor has taken on a more stringent and targeted nature today in the Armavir region, particularly at public catering establishments, shops, and production organizations in the city of Armavir.
A noticeable decrease in violations was also observed in this region. Even the most detailed inspection by the inspectorate at one of the public catering establishments and shops did not discover any shortcomings. Furthermore, all customers were being temperature checked at the shop, which, according to the governor’s decision, is not mandatory for the retail network.
However, several operators were found to have shortcomings, mainly related to the inadequate filling of registration logs. Inspections were carried out by the Inspectorate in all regions of the republic, as well as in the capital city, Yerevan. The reports of the identified shortcomings will be submitted to the governor's office.
Additionally, the activities of several dozen organizations operating within the food chain have been suspended for 24 hours across the republic. Earlier, violations of the sanitary and hygienic norms set by the governor were found at these establishments, including failure to check the temperature of all customers, not maintaining temperature and disinfection logs, and not ensuring social distancing at tables and among individuals, etc.
The Inspectorate provides support to operators through consultations and guidance, while also reminding them of the more severe penalties expected in the case of repeated violations.
