Director Suren Rshtuni Passes Away

On June 19, director Suren Rshtuni passed away. Rshtuni was born on July 29, 1951, in Yerevan. He studied at the H. Hakobyan Secondary School in Yerevan. Since 1969, he worked as an assistant director at the Armenian State Committee for Radio and Television, becoming a director in 1976. He produced the program "Our Language, Our Speech," which was awarded a state prize.

From 1986 to 1989, he studied in the school division of the Vanadzor Pedagogical Institute. Between 1991 and 2004, he served as the chief director of New Year entertainment programs at Armenia's Public Television. In 1995, he took advanced directing courses at the "Sirnea" center in Paris, and later became the chief director of the Armenian National Television in Yerevan.

Since 2007, he taught at Khachatur Abovian State Pedagogical University in Yerevan, where he led a course in directing television films and programs. Beginning in 2010, he hosted the entertainment program "Ashot Ghazaryan Invites."
