Changes Made to the Development Project of the Firdusi Neighborhood: Avinyan
Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan wrote on his Facebook page: "Dear compatriots,
Taking into account the public discussions surrounding the Firdusi neighborhood, I would like to inform you that as a result of negotiations with the developers, we have made a number of positive changes to the development project. Specifically, it has been decided that:
- Historic monuments adjacent to the Republic and Tigran the Great streets will be preserved in their places, the façades of the buildings at the back will be re-evaluated, and a new coherent tourism environment will be created for the relevant areas featuring 2-4 story historical buildings, wooden balconies, and a 200m pedestrian path between the monument buildings.
- In addition to the cafes and souvenir shops planned on the first and second floors, we are currently discussing with the developers about creating museums dedicated to renowned cultural figures on the second and third floors in the context of the historical environment.
These changes will alleviate concerns and will further enhance and complete the development project of the Firdusi neighborhood."
