Whom Does Pashinyan Mean by Saying Azerbaijani People? - President of Artsakh National Assembly

Arthur Tovmasyan, the President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Artsakh, wrote on his Facebook page: "Dear compatriots, during the legislative-executive Q&A session in the Armenian Parliament yesterday, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan referred to the adventurous military rhetoric of the Azerbaijani authorities, noting that these officials are feeding their own people visions of a victorious war. He added that, substantively, official Baku cannot impose anything on Armenia and Artsakh.

Not long ago, the Prime Minister of Armenia stated that if the Azerbaijani authorities continue to refuse dialogue, he would speak with the Azerbaijani people. During the Q&A session, Nikol Pashinyan reminded of this intention.

By saying 'Azerbaijani people,' it is clear that the Prime Minister refers to representatives of various ethnic groups living in that country, including Lezgins, Talysh, Tatars, Avars, Kurds, and so on. Incidentally, they are already at the brink of assimilation and are often listed as Azerbaijanis.

Representatives of the aforementioned ethnicities living in Azerbaijan have numerous issues with the current authorities, and their uprising could have catastrophic consequences for the state known as Azerbaijan. Does official Baku recognize this reality? It remains to be assumed."
