No Beating Occurred: I Asked Him to Write a Resignation Letter Due to Performance Issues - Razmik Mkrtchyan

According to Shamshyan.com, a few days ago, the head of the Shengavit administrative district, along with his deputy and assistant, allegedly assaulted 52-year-old employee Gevorg Poghosyan for not submitting his resignation letter.

In response to the incident, the police announced that they were preparing materials regarding the matter.

After the publication of these allegations, the head of the administrative district, Razmik Mkrtchyan, wrote on his Facebook page that false information was being spread, while the police had also confirmed the presented facts.

Shamshyan.com contacted Razmik Mkrtchyan, who stated, “The information from G. Poghosyan that he was beaten by my deputy and assistant in the municipality is not true. Several months ago, noticing shortcomings in his work, which I personally hired him for, I informed him that he needed to rectify these issues in a short time. However, after some time, seeing that he was continuing to perform his duties poorly, I urged him to resign in accordance with his request.”

“He asked for a month’s time to find another job, and I agreed. However, for several months, he kept saying the same thing: either give me more time, or my wife is unwell, my children are not well, trying various unfounded excuses to avoid writing the resignation letter. On the day he cited, I firmly told him to stop deceiving and to write his resignation. He replied that he would not write a resignation and that I could dismiss him without it. During our conversation, he claimed that I was beating him,” he added.

“I responded that whoever is advising you is probably not giving you good advice, and instead of writing a resignation letter, he went to the police. All of this is slander and misinformation from him. If we had beaten him, the forensic expert would provide the answer when examining him. I insist that there was no beating from me, my deputy, or my assistant. There was a conversation after which he appealed to the police, claiming we had assaulted him,” Mkrtchyan concluded.
