Will MPs Be Involved as Defendants? Details on the Events of June 14 from 'Zhoghovurd'

Details have emerged regarding the criminal cases initiated concerning the events of June 14, according to the daily 'Zhoghovurd.' On that day, supporters and members of the Prosperous Armenia Party (BHK), led by party president Gagik Tsarukyan, gathered in front of the National Security Service building, even blocking Nalbandyan and Khandjian streets.

However, since gatherings are prohibited during a state of emergency in Armenia, a criminal case was opened under the first part of Article 225.1 of the RA Criminal Code against a group of individuals for not adhering to the regulations and causing traffic disruptions. Although on that day, members of the BHK faction also sat on the ground, obstructing traffic, there is currently no decision to involve them as defendants in this case.

Instead, 'Zhoghovurd' has learned that Armen Nersisyan, a member of the Yerevan City Council from the BHK faction and deputy director of 'Arinj Mall,' might be implicated in this case, particularly due to his earlier calls for joining the gathering in front of Gagik Tsarukyan’s private residence. His activities have attracted the attention of law enforcement authorities.

Clarifications on this matter are expected to be made today.
