Inspection Body Discovers Unauthorized Constructions in Vayots Dzor's Verin Ptghni Community

In May 2020, following a citizen's application, the State Inspection Body for Urban Development, Technical and Fire Safety carried out inspections in the Verin Ptghni community of Kotayk province to verify compliance with land legislation requirements.

During the review of documents and field inspection, it was revealed that unauthorized constructions had been erected on a 0.2563 hectare agricultural land plot owned by a citizen, which was designated for agricultural use, specifically for functioning farmland. There were no legal documents permitting any change of purpose or status for the constructions, particularly concrete structures.

No relevant documents for changing the land's designated purpose had been submitted by the community leader. As a result of these findings, the intended use of the land had been violated.

Based on the recorded violations and deficiencies, the head of the State Inspection Body for Urban Development, Technical and Fire Safety submitted a request to the Kotayk regional governor to hold accountable the officials of the Verin Ptghni community for the violations noted in the compiled act and to oblige them to rectify the violations within a reasonable timeframe.
