There Is No Political Tension Between Armenia and Georgia: Gamkrelidze

The Director of the National Center for Disease Control and Public Health of Georgia, Amiran Gamkrelidze, shared his country’s experience in combating coronavirus during a webinar hosted by the Atlantic Council. He addressed several issues, including relations with Armenia, as reported by Aliq Media.

“We have a long history of cohabitation. I know that the situation regarding the infection in Armenia and Azerbaijan is more complicated than in Georgia. We have offered assistance to our Armenian colleagues, and we reached out to them just last week. We have discussed treatment issues once, and the next time, we talked about controlling the spread of the infection and shared our experiences. We have good relations. Only one case has occurred due to a misunderstanding involving an Armenian political figure, and it was a minor matter. This cannot serve as a basis for tension. The pandemic and coronavirus will not affect our official and unofficial friendship,” Gamkrelidze stated.
