Possible That BHK Members Will Occupy Parliamentary Rostrum and Prevent Prosecutor from Presenting the Issue
The newspaper "Hraparak" writes: "Will you participate in discussions regarding Gagik Tsarukyan's immunity? We asked a representative of the "Enlightened Armenia" party. "Yes, of course, because the only perception is that the issue is political. Since the authorities had enough time to present the grounds for the prosecutor to 'bring' them, now, when Tsarukyan has made a political statement about the government, they have left the field.'"
"And how will you participate in the closed, secret ballot? 'If the 'Prosperous Armenia' participates, we too need to discuss the issue of participation. You know, 'My Step' has enough votes to take the issue to 'solution'. The other question is that with that same voting, there will be a serious fight in the My Step’s house.'"
"Why, do you also think that some of the My Step members will not participate or will vote against, or invalidate the ballot? 'Yes, of course, even if there are 5-10 such deputies, then we can already record a serious rift in the team.'"
"There are rumors that the prosecutor will come and lift immunity; however, as happened in the case of Oskenyan, they will not grant consent for the detention measure. 'It is not excluded.'"
"Moreover, according to our information, it is possible that the chief prosecutor who arrives at the parliament will not reach the rostrum—BHK members may occupy the rostrum and prevent the issue from being presented. Remember: a similar incident happened in 2002 when opposition deputies from the HZhK occupied the rostrum, leading to 'closer quarters' between the authorities and the opposition.'"
