Zohrab Mnatsakanyan Discusses with Moldovan Foreign Affairs Minister

On June 15, Armenian Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan held a video call with Oleg Tulea, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of Moldova. Minister Mnatsakanyan congratulated his Moldovan counterpart on taking office, wishing him success in this important mission.

The foreign ministers of Armenia and Moldova exchanged views on the measures being undertaken at the national level to address socio-economic challenges caused by the new coronavirus.

While discussing Armenian-Moldovan bilateral relations, the interlocutors expressed satisfaction with the positive dynamics of dialogue and cooperation, reaffirming their mutual willingness to take practical steps toward broadening and deepening the bilateral agenda. In this context, they emphasized the importance of further activating political dialogue at various levels, including through reciprocal visits and regular consultations between foreign policy agencies.

The Foreign Ministers identified agriculture, information technology, innovation and creative education, and healthcare as primary areas of cooperation. Ministers Mnatsakanyan and Tulea highlighted the importance of the work of the intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation that is of bilateral interest.

The interlocutors also discussed collaboration in regional and international formats, including the EU's Eastern Partnership, the EAEU, and CSTO frameworks. Furthermore, the Armenian and Moldovan Foreign Ministers exchanged thoughts on international and regional security issues.
