VIDEO: Shooting Incident on Svachyan Street Revealed, One Person Arrested

On the night of June 10, the Malatya division of the police received a report about gunshots in the South-Western A-1 neighborhood. Rapidly responding operational investigative groups determined that the incident occurred near house number 42 on Svachyan Street.

At that time, another alert came into the division, this time from the "Astghik" medical center, reporting that a 21-year-old resident of Yerevan had been admitted with a gunshot wound to the left leg. It later became clear that the young man had sustained the gunshot wound right on Svachyan Street.

Fact-finding data revealed that a dispute involving a group of individuals had occurred, which escalated into gunfire. During the inspection of the crime scene, three cartridges of 7.62 mm caliber and two bullets were discovered. Malatya criminal investigators, through operational measures, gathered factual data about the participants in the incident as well as the identity of the young man suspected of firing the shots.

The suspect is a 22-year-old resident of Yerevan. In addition to measures to locate the firearm, police officers also initiated explanatory work, which yielded results on June 12. The suspect presented himself at the Malatya division of the police, bringing with him the weapon used in the crime, an AK-47.

The young man was then transferred to the territorial investigative division and arrested. Forensic examinations, including ballistic tests, have been appointed. The preliminary investigation into the criminal case is ongoing.
