A New Polymerase Chain Reaction Laboratory Opens in Artsakh
The Minister of State of the Republic of Artsakh, Grigori Martirosyan, participated in the opening of a polymerase chain reaction laboratory on June 15, accompanied by Acting Minister of Health Araik Baghramian and Minister of Urban Development Aram Sargsyan.
This newly opened laboratory provides the capability to conduct various tests for the detection of different bacteria and viruses, including COVID-19, in a short time frame. The laboratory is unique throughout Artsakh, equipped with the necessary materials and modern devices.
Ofelia Harutyunyan, head of the State Hygiene and Anti-Epidemic Surveillance of the Artsakh Ministry of Health, presented the results of the first tests conducted for the detection of COVID-19 to the minister. The first 16 samples were also sent to a similar laboratory in the Republic of Armenia, where the same results were obtained. Today, without additional verification, tests for 23 samples were conducted on-site.
Grigori Martirosyan praised the work done and the efforts invested, thanking the professionals in the health and urban development sectors, emphasizing the urgent necessity of the construction and furnishing work carried out in a short time frame for the spread and prevention of the coronavirus.
