Ishkhan Zakaryan's Interrogation Completed; No Detention Request

The interrogation of Ishkhan Zakaryan, the former head of the State Audit Office, has been completed at the NSS. His lawyer, Gegham Hakobyan, confirmed in a conversation with ArmDaily.am that the case is related to the allegations against the leader of the Prosperous Armenia Party, Gagik Tsarukyan.

“After the interrogation, Mr. Zakaryan was released. He is already at home. The case, within the framework of which the interrogation took place, is connected to a criminal case initiated regarding election bribery. As for his position regarding the confidentiality of the investigation, we are obliged and cannot disclose information related to his position or testimonies; we will share it when it is permissible,” said the lawyer.

When asked about Mr. Zakaryan's status, the lawyer stated, “he is in an intermediary status of witness-suspect, and there is no detention request.”
