Serbia to Provide Nearly $1 Million in Medical Aid to Armenia
In a recent phone conversation between Armenian President Armen Sarkissian and Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić, it was announced that Serbia will be offering substantial humanitarian aid to Armenia as support in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic. This was reported by the press office of the Armenian President.
Recently, President Armen Sarkissian had a phone call with his Serbian counterpart Vučić, with whom he shares warm friendly relations. The two presidents discussed the situation related to the coronavirus pandemic, and the Serbian President emphasized that his country is prepared to assist Armenia. President Sarkissian conveyed to the Serbian side the list of necessary supplies provided by the Armenian Minister of Health.
A few days ago, during a meeting with healthcare professionals, the President mentioned that he had spoken again with his Serbian colleague, who detailed the quantity and types of aid he plans to send to his Armenian counterpart and, through him, to the friendly people of Armenia.
In the coming days, two special flights will arrive from Serbia to Armenia, fully loaded with a large amount of medical supplies and equipment. Specifically, the country will receive 10 ventilators, 10 monitoring devices to track patient conditions, 500,000 surgical masks, 100,000 respiratory masks, 25,000 protective glasses, 25,000 medical protective suits, and other necessary supplies.
The total value of the Serbian assistance organized with the support of President Vučić and initiated by President Sarkissian will amount to nearly 1 million US dollars.
During the phone conversation with the Serbian President, President Armen Sarkissian thanked Aleksandar Vučić and, on his behalf, the friendly Serbian people for their continued warm attitude towards Armenia and the Armenian people.
