VIDEO: Opel Driver Deliberately Hits 45-Year-Old Man in Yerevan

On the night of June 7, a pedestrian was struck in the village of Avan. One of the cameras on Khudiakovi Street recorded how the driver of an Opel deliberately hit a man crossing at a pedestrian crossing. The driver fled the scene, while the injured pedestrian was taken to University Hospital No. 1. Preliminary reports indicate that he sustained serious injuries.

A criminal case has been initiated. Officers from the Criminal Police Main Department obtained operational data showing that the incident was not a result of negligence; the Opel driver intentionally hit the 45-year-old man. The identity of the suspect was also established, and on June 8, Avan police found and detained a 48-year-old man residing in Yerevan. He has since been arrested. The vehicle used in the crime has been placed in a secure area. The investigation into the criminal case is ongoing.
