Opposition MP Özgür Özel issued a statement saying an attempt was made to silence their right to speak, and that the MHP MP had attacked him upon entering the chamber. He also emphasized that he was only able to stop the assault due to the intervention of his colleagues, while Olcay Kılavuz sustained serious injuries.
