Pavlik Manukyan: 'Whether it’s a mayor or a chief of police, I won’t wear a mask'
Pavlik Manukyan, a member of the 'Sasna Tsrer' group and a freedom fighter, has been released after being detained for not wearing a mask outside the Shengavit Court of General Jurisdiction in Yerevan. In an interview with LURER.com, Manukyan stated that the authorities had drawn up an administrative report at the police station before letting him go.
‘I did not wear a mask and I will not wear one; it’s outright nonsense, something I will neither do nor accept. It’s an illegal decision—whether it’s a mayor, a chief of police, or whatever nonsense. They have imposed it, let them come out from under that burden themselves. I didn’t enter a shop; I was just walking alone in the park, and for that reason, they detained me,’ he noted.
Manukyan also urged the public not to wear masks, saying, ‘Masks can even be harmful to our nation; they need us healthy. I advise everyone not to wear one,’ Manukyan added.
