VIDEO: Illegal Assault Rifle Discovered from Suspicious Vehicle in Dilijan

On June 8, the police department of Yerevan relayed operational information to the Dilijan branch of the police that a Mercedes vehicle was traveling from Yerevan to Dilijan. According to credible sources, illegal weapons and ammunition were present in the vehicle's interior.

Officers from the Tavush regional police department and the Dilijan branch, along with the road police serving the area, located the suspicious vehicle on Kamo Street in Dilijan. The driver and passengers were taken to the police department in Dilijan. The vehicle was moved to the secure area of the department.

Based on a court decision, the vehicle was searched. Factory-numbered Kalashnikov assault rifles with loaded magazines were discovered, as well as another magazine that was also loaded with bullets. During the search of the apprehended individuals, knives were also found. The illegal weapons and knives have been confiscated. Forensic examinations have been commissioned.

A criminal case has been initiated regarding the incident, and the detained individuals have been arrested. The circumstances are under investigation.
