Pashinyan Recently Met with Levon Ter-Petrosyan
According to Pastinfo, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan met with the first President of Armenia, Levon Ter-Petrosyan, two days ago. Notably, during the meeting, the Prime Minister was still officially considered to be infected with the coronavirus.
The main focus of the meeting was the situation in the domestic political arena, which Pashinyan has increasingly struggled to manage. Following this meeting, two key officials were dismissed: the Director of the National Security Service and the Chief of Police, alongside Pashinyan's announcement about his recovery.
It is noteworthy that although the country is on the brink of chaos due to the coronavirus, as Pashinyan himself declared, the personnel changes occurred not in the sphere that failed to combat the pandemic, but within the security structures. This suggests that he harbors concerns regarding upcoming political developments.
The former president might have offered advice to Pashinyan about the political changes ahead. The fact is that after the meeting, the Director of the National Security Service and the Chief of Police were replaced with familiar figures. Additionally, media reports have surfaced regarding the strengthening of security at government residences, indicating that additional state security forces have been deployed in these areas.
