Lena Nazaryan Urges Not to Plan Land Return from Russia to Armenia

Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly Lena Nazaryan writes on her Facebook page: "Dear compatriots, we are aware that there are still thousands of citizens of Armenia who wish to return to Armenia from Russia. We find it necessary to reiterate that, due to the measures taken to prevent the pandemic, the government of Georgia has prohibited the entry of foreign nationals into its territory. Therefore, we again urge our citizens not to plan their return to Armenia from Russia via land routes.

Citizens who find themselves at the Lars checkpoint encounter a dead end. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia informs that currently the only possible way to return to Armenia from Russia is by air. Moreover, it is necessary to register at the Armenian Consulate General in Rostov-on-Don or the Armenian Embassy in Moscow to take advantage of this option. Upcoming flights will occur on June 10 from the cities of Krasnodar and Mineralnye Vody, with additional flights from Moscow that the embassy regularly updates about.

For returning to Armenia, follow only official information provided by our diplomatic services in Russia and the Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. We urge our citizens to comply with the existing regulations, imposed restrictions, and coordinate their return to Armenia with our diplomatic services in Russia."
