16 Tons of Tobacco Smuggled from Armenia Seized in Voronezh

According to Vesti Voronezh, border guards in Voronezh have seized 16 tons of imported tobacco. The massive batch of illegal cigarettes was discovered in a cargo aircraft that arrived from Yerevan to Voronezh. Labels revealed that all the tobacco was produced in Armenia. The products lacked excise stamps and the mandatory special markings required for tobacco products.

As reported, this is the second large shipment of tobacco imported from Armenia to Voronezh in the past month; similar seizures were made by border guards in Krasnodar at the end of April. The total estimated sale price of all the cigarettes seized in Voronezh is around 70 million rubles.
