Turkey Reopens Border Checkpoints with Nakhchivan and Iran
Turkey has reopened the "Güvenlik" checkpoint, bordering Iran, and the "Dilucu" checkpoint, bordering Nakhchivan, for cargo transportation. This news has delighted truck drivers. According to Ermenihaber, drivers waiting for a long time to cross into Nakhchivan broke into a round dance out of joy near the border checkpoint.
As reported by Turkish sources, truck drivers will be required to undergo temperature checks upon entering the Turkish border checkpoint. Entry into Turkey without a mask for drivers will be prohibited.
It is noteworthy that Turkey had closed the "Güvenlik" checkpoint in the province of Ağrı, bordering Iran, and the "Dilucu" checkpoint in the province of Iğdır, bordering Nakhchivan, on February 23 to prevent the possible spread of coronavirus. This resulted in a traffic jam of cargo trucks at the checkpoints.
