Surveillance in Public Places Can Only Be Conducted by Public Authorities: Doydoyan

"Several minimum rules for the protection of personal data. When filming or photographing, it is necessary to inform people about it (principle of good faith). When publishing, individuals must be anonymized, facial features should be blurred, and the shot should be adjusted.
The monitor or photographer is required to process the data only to the minimum extent necessary to achieve the legal purpose (principle of proportionality). Finally, surveillance in public places can only be conducted by public authorities (for example, city hall, police).
Violation of the Law on Protection of Personal Data in Armenia, including processing personal data (including through surveillance) in contravention of established procedures, entails administrative liability: a fine, which varies from 50,000 AMD to 500,000 AMD depending on the violations (see Administrative Offenses Code, Article 189.17). #PDPArmenia #Personal_Data_Protection_Agency"
