Kotayk Governor Visits Villages in Abovyan Region
The working visits of Kotayk Governor Romanos Petrosyan to the communities of the region continue, with the implementation of subvention programs being closely monitored by the governor and the regional administration.
During his latest visit, the governor toured the communities of Mayakovski, Kamaris, Geghashen, Aramus, and Katnaghbyur in the Abovyan region. The purpose of the visit was to familiarize himself with the progress of the subvention programs implemented with joint funding from the government and communities, as well as the works carried out with the community's budget.
The visit commenced in Mayakovski community, where a subvention program initiated in 2020 aims to renovate the second building of the Mayakovski kindergarten, along with the dining and kitchen areas, as well as to improve the yard area. The total cost of the project is 67,730,510 AMD, of which 50% is funded by the state and the remainder by the community.
In Mayakovski, the governor also visited the H. Hovhannisyan Secondary School, where complete window replacements are planned for this year.
In Kamaris community, a water pipeline was constructed in 2019 through subvention programs, which included drilling of a deep irrigation well and restoration of an external lighting network on one of the streets. A new subvention program in 2020 is set to construct another pipeline that will resolve the community's water issues. The total project value stands at 30,507,410 AMD, with 55% funded by the state and the rest by the community.
In Geghashen community, a drinking water pipeline was built in 2019 with a budget of 12,499,980 AMD, of which 55% is state-funded and 45% is community investment. A new and modern kindergarten building is being constructed, with a total project value of 125,400,000 AMD, involving 50% state funding, 10% community investment, and 40% from other investors. The 2020 subvention program also plans to construct a yard area for the kindergarten and implement engineering networks. Children in the community will have an opportunity to attend this kindergarten by autumn.
The cultural house and music school were also visited, where a gasification and local heating system installation program is planned, worth a total of 10,641,860 AMD, with a distribution of 30% from the state and 70% from the community. The community's leaders discussed the construction of a loft-style library in the cultural house, envisioned as a pleasant space for youth educational activities.
Last year, Geghashen R. Stepanyan Secondary School constructed a playground using its own funds. The governor and the community leader discussed possibilities for renovating the sports hall and constructing an expanded sports area with a volleyball court and a running track in the school's backyard.
The community has also submitted proposals to the government for the reconstruction of the existing metallic drinking water reservoir and three adjacent distribution points, along with the construction of a new valve on the main water pipeline.
In the Aramus community, the governor participated in the consecration ceremony for the foundation of a new kindergarten. Under the subvention programs for 2019 and 2020, the community, which has been without a kindergarten for 40 years, will finally have a newly built, comfortable preschool institution. The construction of kindergartens is a key component of our policy and efforts to improve the quality of life in communities. By laying the foundation for each new kindergarten, we are setting the groundwork for brighter and more prosperous lives for our children.
Another subvention program plans to gasify the 4th and 5th streets of the Independence neighborhood, as well as the 8th, 9th, and 10th streets of the Youth neighborhood, and the 3rd byway of Tigranashor. The project is valued at 233,000,000 AMD, with 50% funded by the state and the remainder by the community.
The governor's last stop was in the Katnaghbyur community, where the area for constructing a modular school was surveyed. A significant part of this visit was also to visit the community health centers to assess the conditions and availability of necessary resources.
Efforts to enhance the quality of citizens' lives in Kotayk region are ongoing. Daily collaborations with community leaders and construction companies continue to ensure that all subvention programs in the region are completed fully and to a high standard.
