Georgians Appeal to Government: They Want to Offer Medical Assistance to Armenians in Georgia
The governments of Georgia and Armenia are actively communicating. This was announced by the Georgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. According to a spokesman for the neighboring country's Foreign Minister, Georgia has once again expressed its willingness to assist Armenia, reports aliq.ge.
“During the pandemic, the government has maintained constant contact with the Armenian side. A phone conversation took place a few days ago between the Prime Ministers of the two countries. There is also communication at the level of individual ministers. Today, Georgian Foreign Minister David Zalkaliani and his Armenian counterpart discussed the situation prevailing in both countries. Zalkaliani once again expressed his solidarity with Armenia and spoke about the readiness to provide assistance,” announced the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Political and social figures, as well as activists, have expressed their support for helping Armenia on social media. An online petition has also been created, calling on citizens to urge the Georgian government to assist Armenia by transferring patients to Georgia.
