Arthur Vanetsyan Sues Prime Minister and Spokesperson, Demands 2 Million Drams

The former director of the National Security Service of Armenia, Arthur Vanetsyan, has filed a lawsuit against Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and his spokesperson Mane Gevorgyan. This information has been confirmed via the Judicial Information System.

The lawsuit was filed on June 4 and has been assigned to Judge Lilit Sargsyan of the Yerevan City Court of General Jurisdiction. The plaintiff is demanding that the defendants publicly refute the defamatory statements made against him, remove them, publish a denial text, and compensate for the damage caused to his honor and dignity.

Aramazd Kiviryans, Vanetsyan's representative, stated in our conversation that the reason for the lawsuit stems from Mane Gevorgyan's Facebook post on April 29. Kiviryans pointed out that they are seeking compensation in the amount of 2 million drams. According to him, the press spokesperson acts on behalf of the Prime Minister, which is why the lawsuit has also been filed against him.

In our conversation, Press Secretary Mane Gevorgyan mentioned that she has not yet received the lawsuit. When asked whether she plans to refute her post, she responded negatively.
