I Had a Harsh Conversation with Both the Police Chief and the NSS Director for Misrepresenting the Situation: Prime Minister
“There is no power structure or administrative system in the world that can solve an issue of this magnitude,” said Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during a live Facebook broadcast.
“I myself have had a very harsh conversation in recent days with both the police chief and the head of the National Security Service, primarily for failing to accurately present the scale of the problem and the situation. Because what I saw with your assistance is simply catastrophic. The power structure cannot regulate this problem like a clock. I want us to record this. The question is not about responsibility; I am responsible, but does that change anything for the relatives of the deceased?” Pashinyan said.
The Prime Minister indicated that hospital beds are running out and that this pace cannot be halted in a single day. “The hospital beds are running out, dear compatriots, and I am convinced that if we had adhered to the rules we should have followed, we would have had a 95 percent lower rate. Each of us must admit our mistakes and take a step back from this path leading to the abyss. This is my message,” he said.
