We Have 2 Scenarios: Either Restrictions Are Imposed Again and the Economy Suffers, or... Prime Minister
The situation related to the new type of coronavirus continues to escalate, unfortunately. This was stated by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during a press briefing.
“Yesterday we recorded 517 new cases, and the main question that arises is why all this is happening to us. I want to emphasize once again that our main problem is the adherence to anti-epidemic rules and the quality of compliance with those rules. We are confident that adherence to these rules will lead to a decrease and even a total eradication of cases related to the coronavirus. One of the reasons for this is that the atmosphere of fear that existed in the country after 2018 has been neutralized, but in its place, the level of lawfulness is not at an adequate level,” said Pashinyan.
“We are dealing with a situation where, for instance, we also have a problem with the quality and rigidity of the registration of violations of the rules,” added the Prime Minister, emphasizing that we are faced with the rigidity of administrative oversight related to compliance with the rules.
“All of this is aggravated by the established atmosphere in the country, where, for example, if a sales point for cucumbers or tomatoes or any other is closed abruptly, comments will arise suggesting that, quite possibly, the country’s prime minister has decided to establish a monopoly over tomatoes, greens, or shoes, and this is the situation we face today,” Pashinyan said, noting that anti-epidemic rules should be followed in the strictest and most uncompromising way, without taking any arguments into account.
