Only One of the Company Under Ban Had Regular Flights to Europe

The European Commission's flight ban to the EU has actually affected only one airline from Armenia that operates regular passenger transfers in one direction: Aircompany Armenia was the only carrier providing regular flights to Lyon, France.

From the Armenia Airways website, we learned that the company operates flights from Yerevan to Anapa-Yerevan and Yerevan-Tehran-Yerevan.

Armenian Helicopters conducts passenger transfers with light-class helicopters within the territory of the Republic of Armenia, Georgia, the Russian Federation, and Turkey.

Atlantis Armenian Airlines and Atlantis European Airways do not have regular flights to European destinations either.

The Chairman of the Civil Aviation Committee, Tatevik Revazyan, had previously announced regarding Mars Avia that its operating certificate has been suspended and the company is at risk of closure. According to her, if the deficiencies identified during inspections by the Civil Aviation Committee are not rectified, the company must cease operations from May 1. It was conducting flights in Africa.

Skyball has an aircraft operator's certificate, which allows it to carry out commercial passenger transfers with hot air balloons within the republic.

On June 2, the European Commission updated the EU air safety list, which includes the airlines whose operations are banned or restricted within the European Union as they do not meet international safety standards. All airlines certified in Armenia have been added to this list following an assessment of the country's safety oversight capabilities. Included in the list are Aircompany Armenia, Armenia Airways, Armenian Helicopters, Atlantis Armenian Airlines, Atlantis European Airways, Mars Avia, and Skyball.
