A lunar penumbral eclipse will be visible on the evening of June 5. The eclipse can be observed in Armenia, many European countries, Australia, and elsewhere. In Yerevan, the event will begin at 21:45 local time, reach its maximum phase at 23:24, and end at 01:04 the following morning.

A lunar eclipse occurs when the Moon, moving in its orbit around the Earth, finds itself on the opposite side of the Earth relative to the Sun, and the Earth’s shadow covers the Moon. A penumbral eclipse differs from a partial eclipse in that, during a penumbral event, the areas covered by the Earth’s shadow become more subdued rather than completely dark, allowing the Moon to appear more muted than usual.
