Hrant Bagratyan's Statements Are False: 'Bright Armenia'
Edmon Marukyan, the leader of the 'Bright Armenia' faction, has addressed several statements made by former Prime Minister Hrant Bagratyan the day before. On his Facebook page, the MP wrote:
'Yesterday, former Prime Minister and former MP Hrant Bagratyan, during an interview on the program 'Before the Mirror', commented on the 'Bright Armenia' faction of the National Assembly and made the following remarks: 'Who needs the 'Bright Armenia' faction? (...) I do not see any substantive dispute. The same budget, which they gave rights to the government, now the government is not obliged to go to parliament. (...) This person is obliged to say these things. (...) Bright Armenia and the Prosperous Armenia Party were enough to appeal that law to the Constitutional Court. They evil (...)'
We inform you that Hrant Bagratyan's statements are false. The 'Bright Armenia' faction was the only faction that voted against the bill for amendments and supplements to the law on the 'State Budget of the Republic of Armenia for 2020' (code: K-586), and this fact is recorded in the relevant section of the official National Assembly website (http://www.parliament.am/register.php?ID=554, http://www.parliament.am/register.php?do=bulletin&ID=8758). The speeches of the faction's MPs have been directed against the bill, arguing why it should not be adopted. Since only the 'Bright Armenia' faction voted against, there could not be any talk of appealing to the Constitutional Court.
The 'Bright Armenia' faction calls on the former Prime Minister to check the facts before speaking about 'Bright Armenia' and to build his claims in line with reality in general.
