Charges Filed Against Electrician at HEC for Violating Safety Regulations
The investigation into a case of violation of safety regulations has been completed at the Tumanyan investigative division of the Lori regional investigative department of the RA Investigative Committee. Charges have been brought against a 26-year-old man. This information was reported by the Public Relations Department of the RA IC.
It has been established that the 26-year-old, working as an electrician-mountaineer at the 'Electric Networks of Armenia' LLC, Debed branch, and serving as the group leader, failed to properly carry out the installation of the cable for a new line at the substation during his work, allowing technical violations to occur.
As the group leader, he involved individuals who were not company employees and did not meet the requirements of the technical regulations, failing to provide adequate supervision for their safety. As a result, one of them, a 56-year-old resident of Tumanyan, was electrocuted and died while laying the cable for the newly constructed line on October 27, 2018, around 16:10.
Based on the collected evidence, the electrician-mountaineer has been charged under Article 157 (violation of safety regulations) of the RA Criminal Code. A signature not to leave the country has been imposed as a preventive measure against him. The investigation has concluded, and the criminal case has been sent to court with an accusatory conclusion.
