31-Year-Old Resident of Yerevan Arrested on Suspicions of Inflicting Serious Harm on Fellow Citizen
On May 31, 2020, at various times, reports were received from the "Mikaelyan" Medical Center indicating that three residents of Yerevan were transported for medical assistance with stab wounds to the left side of the abdomen and the right thigh, a fracture of the left femoral neck, and soft tissue contusion.
According to preliminary data, at around 01:15 on the same day, four citizens had a dispute on Mamigonian Street, resulting in mutual physical assaults. During the altercation, a 31-year-old resident of Yerevan stabbed one of the participants, a 42-year-old fellow citizen, in the abdomen and right thigh with a knife he had on him, causing serious bodily harm.
Following the incident, a criminal case was initiated in the Arabkir administrative district of the Yerevan investigative department of the Investigative Committee of Armenia under part 1 of Article 112 of the RA Criminal Code (deliberately inflicting serious harm to health). The three individuals transported to the hospital have been recognized as victims.
During the pre-investigation, several investigative actions have taken place, including an examination of the crime scene, where the knife used in the apparent crime was seized. Various individuals have been interrogated, and forensic examinations have been appointed.
On May 31, 2020, the 31-year-old resident of Yerevan was arrested on suspicion of inflicting serious harm on a fellow citizen. The investigation continues.
