Doctors Fight for Life of Assaulted Lieutenant Colonel

Doctors Fight for Life of Assaulted Lieutenant Colonel

The health condition of Lieutenant Colonel Ara Mkrtchyan, who has been in a coma for over 8 months due to assault, has deteriorated. Ara Mkrtchyan's brother, Karen Mkrtchyan, informed NEWS.am about the situation. "He has lost blood and is experiencing pressure-related issues; now doctors are fighting for his life," he stated.

It is worth noting that prior to the deterioration in the lieutenant colonel's condition, doctors had indicated that by the end of May, it would be possible to transfer the lieutenant colonel home and provide care for him there.

Recall that on March 6, the Court of Appeals approved a motion to release the accused, Zaven Grigoryan, who was charged with assaulting the lieutenant colonel, and he was released on a bail of 1.5 million dram. Ara Mkrtchyan has been in a coma for over 8 months.

Charges have been brought against Harutyun Grigoryan, a former assistant to the governor of Vayots Dzor, and Zaven Grigoryan, his brother, is also in the status of an accused. A week after the incident, Tigran Sargsyan resigned from his position as the governor of Vayots Dzor, who, according to circulating information and certain testimonies, was present at the scene.
