Man Killed During Protest in Detroit
A man has died and more than 40 people have been arrested in Detroit, Michigan, during protests following the police killing of an African American in Minneapolis. This was reported by the Detroit News, citing Police Chief James Craig.
According to him, unidentified individuals opened fire from a vehicle towards the crowd. Mass protests have taken place in over 10 cities across the United States due to the death of George Floyd, an African American who was asphyxiated during a rough arrest by police.
The 46-year-old Minneapolis resident died on May 25 after three officers pinned him to the pavement, with one of them pressing a knee on his neck, depriving the man of consciousness.
