Optical Cables of Yerevan's Ucom Damaged in Regions; CEO Summoned to 6th Division

Interesting developments continue around 'Ucom'. According to 'FactInfo', optical cables belonging to the Ucom company have been damaged in several regions of Armenia.

Interestingly, all three mobile operators in the republic have their stations located in close proximity to each other in the regions, yet it is Ucom's cables that are being damaged and stolen. Although these cables have been restored quickly, the phenomenon raises several questions, as targeted damages create unfavorable conditions for one of the three operators in the competitive market, repeatedly disrupting its operations.

The law enforcement agencies have been unable to ensure the protection of one specific mobile operator from illegal encroachments, which suggests that these actions are being carried out under their 'protection' or due to criminal negligence.

'FactInfo' has learned that reports of cable thefts have been received by the police; however, no resolutions have been made. We have also managed to clarify that recently the CEO of Ucom, Ara Khachatryan, was summoned to the 6th Division, but the topic of thefts was not discussed. The meeting was primarily aimed at intimidating the newly appointed director, suggesting that his appointment was illegal.
