Ruben Hayrapetyan's Son Surrenders to Police

Rafik Hayrapetyan voluntarily appeared at the Arabkir police station hours after the discussion regarding the measure of restraint—detention—and subsequently at the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia. This is reported by the Investigative Committee of Armenia.

“In the criminal case regarding the apparent self-justice actions performed by Ruben Hayrapetyan, his son, and their friends against the head of the executive body of the ‘Harsnakhar’ restaurant and hotel complex, as well as illegal deprivation of liberty, causing severe physical pain and intense mental suffering, motions to select detention as a measure of restraint for five individuals have been granted (updated),” stated the Investigative Committee.

“In the Chief Department for Investigation of Particularly Important Cases of the Investigative Committee, a total of six individuals have been involved in the criminal case concerning the apparent self-justice actions against the head of the executive body of the ‘Harsnakhar’ restaurant and hotel complex, resulting in illegal deprivation of liberty and infliction of severe physical pain and intense mental suffering, who are wanted by law enforcement, and motions have been filed to the Court of General Jurisdiction of Yerevan for selecting detention as a measure of restraint for these individuals.”

The motions regarding Ruben Hayrapetyan and four defendants have been granted, while the motion concerning his son was rejected.

Following the hearing on the measure of restraint—detention—Rafik Hayrapetyan voluntarily presented himself at the Arabkir police station and subsequently at the Investigative Committee. He has been charged, and the measure of restraint selected for him is a signature not to leave.

Earlier, we reported that as a result of extensive investigative and other procedural actions, as well as operational-search measures undertaken by the officers of the Main Directorate of Criminal Police of the RA Police, several circumstances regarding the apparent self-justice actions by Ruben Hayrapetyan, his son, and his friends against the head of the executive body of the “Harsnakhar” restaurant and hotel complex, leading to illegal deprivation of liberty, severe physical pain, and intense mental suffering have been clarified.

Investigative and other procedural actions are ongoing to ensure a comprehensive, objective, and multi-faceted examination of the incident,” the statement concluded.
