Gas Prices in Georgia Expected to Decrease Following Successful Negotiations, Says Natia Turnava
The Georgian side's negotiations with all gas suppliers, including the Russian company Gazprom, have been successful. This was reported to journalists by Georgia's Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Natia Turnava.
“Despite the fact that this is a trade secret, and we cannot discuss prices and details, you can see that wholesale prices for natural gas in the Georgian market are decreasing. Therefore, these are quite acceptable, comfortable, and competitive conditions. This is the result of competition, including the agreement signed with Gazprom. Among other things, this is a trend of decreasing Azerbaijani gas. Here, of course, there are two factors: the first is that gas prices are decreasing globally, and the second is a result of the competitive situation,” Turnava said.
It is noteworthy that earlier, Natia Turnava stated that the revision of the current contract with Gazprom serves to lower the price of natural gas, and that the price is expected to decrease by approximately 15%.
